As XRP and Cardano both remain under pressure, technical and fundamental indicators are diverging. XRP is defending the psychologically important $1.00 zone, trading near $1.0015 after sliding from roughly $1.35 in late May or early June. Its RSI at 41.10 has produced multiple bullish divergence signals, and the Ultimate Oscillator at 52.47 sits above the 50 midpoint, suggesting weakening selling pressure and improving momentum.
Cardano's ADA is in a more difficult position. ADA is trading around $0.1775 after falling from approximately $0.26, with a lower-high, lower-low structure still intact. The Ultimate Oscillator is at 39.76, well below 50, and RSI divergence indicators remain bearish. ADA's market cap has moved between $6.7 billion and $7.4 billion, while XRP's market cap has held between about $62.5 billion and $65 billion. If ADA breaks below $0.16, support could extend toward $0.14-$0.12; bulls would need to reclaim $0.18 and then push above $0.20 with volume to shift the trend.
Fundamental catalysts also favor XRP at this stage. The SEC case has an important status-report deadline on August 15, 2026, and although Ripple and the SEC reached a $125 million settlement in 2025, remaining appeals still need to be formally closed. XRP spot ETFs reportedly recorded more than $1 billion in net inflows during their first month in 2025, and Ripple is pursuing a U.S. banking license. Cardano has its own calendar: the Dijkstra upgrade is planned across late 2026 and Q2 2027, and ADA ETF filings face an SEC decision window around October 23, 2026. However, Cardano's DeFi TVL has fallen about 87% from its peak to roughly $94 million, despite whales accumulating more than 30 million ADA in one week.
Additional on-chain data reinforces XRP's setup. XRP remains down 43% year-to-date, but trading volume has increased from 1.76 million to 5.89 million XRP around the current level. Wallets holding at least 1 million XRP have accumulated more than 1.23 billion tokens during 2026, including about 72 million XRP on August 15 alone. XRP Ledger daily active addresses reached 49,929, the highest in three months. Claude AI estimates that a $5,000 XRP investment could grow to $15,000-$25,000 by 2030, implying an XRP price of about $3-$5. XRP would first need to clear resistance around $1.02-$1.04 and then $1.08-$1.10; a break above $1.05 could open the door toward $1.10-$1.15. For ADA, reclaiming $0.20 would be the first major step toward reversing its bearish outlook.
