Chainlink has entered a strategic partnership with LG CNS, the AI transformation and IT services subsidiary of South Korea’s LG Group, to build out blockchain infrastructure for one of Asia’s largest digital asset markets. The announcement on October 23, 2026, highlights a shared focus on expanding the reach and utility of Korean won stablecoins, a segment with more than 11 million eligible users, as well as tokenized securities and institutional digital asset services.

South Korea does not yet have a clear legal basis for the commercial issuance and trading of won-linked stablecoins. Lawmakers are currently developing the Digital Asset Basic Act, which is expected to set out standards for stablecoin issuers and broader digital asset businesses. Under the partnership, LG CNS will integrate Chainlink’s cross-chain connectivity, data infrastructure, and orchestration tools into its institutional platform solutions, giving Korean financial institutions access to secure interoperability and real-world data.

"Korea’s financial infrastructure is entering the tokenization era. LG CNS is committed to leading this transition, and together with Chainlink, we aim to accelerate the growth of Korea’s tokenized securities market by enabling secure interoperability and real-world data, while creating a foundation for global expansion," said Hongkeun Kim, executive vice president and head of the digital business division at LG CNS. LG CNS is also the lead contractor for the Bank of Korea’s flagship digital currency initiative, Project Hangang, while LG Group controls roughly 186 trillion won ($140.5 billion) in assets across 63 affiliates.
