A fresh wave of technical breakouts hit several major cryptocurrencies on Aug. 22, 2026, as XRP, Shiba Inu, Hyperliquid and Dogecoin staged notable recoveries.
XRP produced one of its strongest daily moves in months, climbing roughly 10% to around $1.40. It recovered multiple moving averages in a single session, breaking above resistance near $1.16 and the short-term averages around $1.09, while briefly topping the long-term moving average at $1.34. Volume reached approximately 277 million, signaling real participation. However, the daily RSI surged to about 83, putting XRP in overbought territory. Holding above $1.34–$1.35 is seen as key for a move toward $1.45–$1.50 and eventually the $1.55 consolidation zone, while failure could trigger a retest of $1.16.
Shiba Inu advanced about 5.7% to roughly $0.00000523, pushing through the psychologically important $0.000005 level. The token reclaimed the short-term moving averages between $0.00000452 and $0.00000465 and broke above the $0.00000489 level that had repeatedly capped recoveries. Volume climbed to around 1.53 trillion SHIB, strengthening the breakout signal. The next major test sits in the $0.0000057–$0.0000058 area, near the declining long-term moving average at $0.00000574. Its RSI is at about 67.8, leaving some room before traditional overbought levels.
Hyperliquid's HYPE returned to the upper boundary of its 2026 trading range after an explosive daily move toward $76. The asset erased most of its August correction and is challenging the $76–$78 resistance zone. It has recovered all major moving averages, with short-term support at $60.50–$60.70, intermediate support near $57.70 and long-term support around $51.90. A confirmed daily close above the resistance zone could open price discovery toward $80, while the daily RSI near 78 suggests cooling or consolidation may occur first.
Dogecoin broke out of its compressed August structure with a roughly 4% rise to around $0.087. It recovered the short-term moving average at $0.072 and accelerated through the intermediate average near $0.080, supported by volume of about 1.07 billion DOGE. The next major barrier is the long-term moving average at $0.095, which aligns with the former $0.09–$0.10 structure. The daily RSI jumped to about 77.7 from a neutral reading, making the $0.09–$0.095 area the immediate test before any push toward $0.10 and $0.11–$0.115.
