Key takeaways:

  • Tether's freeze underscores USDT's compliance power, deterring criminals but centralizing control.
  • Chainflip laundering route shows cross-chain bridges remain vulnerable to forensic tracing.
  • KuCoin deposit addresses face heightened scrutiny; exchange compliance is now critical.

Blockchain investigator ZachXBT has published forensic findings linking the alias M1llionz, also known as RichMilly666, to about $667,000 in cryptocurrency stolen during two violent home invasions in France in April 2026.

On April 17, five assailants broke into a residence and stole 7.2 BTC, worth roughly $557,000 at the time, with injuries requiring hospitalization. Three days later, on April 20, a second armed robbery involving threats and unlawful detention resulted in the theft of another $110,000 in digital assets.

The suspect operated a Telegram channel called EMPIRE and openly posted fraudulent services and wallet balance screenshots. ZachXBT traced the Bitcoin proceeds through the Chainflip cross-chain protocol and into three KuCoin deposit addresses. Approximately $317,000 moved through those KuCoin addresses before consolidation, while around 46 ETH from the second attack followed a similar path. Some funds were later converted into USDT and privacy-focused assets.

Wallets publicly shared by M1llionz received nearly $84,000 directly from the stolen fund routes. After ZachXBT submitted forensic dossiers, Tether froze an Ethereum address holding $93,000 USDT. French judicial authorities are continuing an active investigation into criminal liability and potential arrest warrants.
