Ethereum has strengthened its position as the most used blockchain for stablecoin transactions after a sharp increase in its stablecoin market capitalization. According to data from Token Terminal, the network added approximately $400 million in stablecoin value within a single 24-hour period on August 25, 2026.
As a result, Ethereum now holds about $162.3 billion worth of stablecoins, representing 54.5% of the total stablecoin market capitalization of roughly $297.8 billion across 46 blockchain networks. This puts Ethereum well ahead of Tron, which ranks second with about $93.2 billion, or 31.3% of the stablecoin market share. Solana remains in third place with around $14.6 billion in stablecoin market capitalization.
The growth reflects increasing demand and adoption across Ethereum's spot and DeFi markets. Stablecoins on Ethereum are widely used for decentralized finance, payment solutions, and institutional settlement, reinforcing the blockchain's role as a major settlement layer for digital dollar equivalents.
