Injective Price Surges 45% on SEC Transfer Agent Approval and Buyback Momentum

Key takeaways:

  • SEC transfer agent status grants INJ a regulatory moat in tokenized securities, anchoring long-term value.
  • Overbought Williams %R and 45% weekly rally raise near-term consolidation or pullback risks.
  • 913% address surge signals real usage, but price may have outpaced fundamental growth.

Injective (INJ) climbed 45.7% over seven days and 10.9% in 24 hours to trade near $5.95, supported by regulatory progress, tokenised asset infrastructure and an upcoming buyback.

The main catalyst came on Aug. 19, when Injective Institutional Services secured registration with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission as a transfer agent. That status gives the network a regulated route into the tokenised securities market. The initial announcement lifted INJ by roughly 8%–9%, and the token later moved from about $5.30 to nearly $6.00 over the latest 24-hour period.

According to Injective, the registration allows the company to maintain official securities ownership records and support transfers, distributions and corporate actions. The project said the approval forms part of its effort to bring regulated financial markets and tokenised securities on-chain, combining transfer-agent services with Injective’s blockchain infrastructure.

Injective has also expanded exposure to traditional assets through iAssets, its suite of on-chain synthetic markets. These products provide perpetual markets tied to equities and have previously recorded billions of dollars in daily trading volume on major technology stocks.

Supply dynamics added another catalyst as traders awaited the August Community BuyBack. Under IIP-617, ecosystem revenue is used to purchase INJ and permanently remove it from circulation. CoinMarketCap data indicated the August round could remove more than 33,000 INJ, while reports put another community buyback scheduled for Wednesday at more than $168,000, although Injective has not independently confirmed that figure.

On technical charts, INJ was testing the $6.00–$6.10 area after recovering from around $4 earlier in August. The daily Aroon Up stood at 92.86% versus Aroon Down at 50%, while Accumulation/Distribution turned higher from August lows. On the 4-hour chart, the upper Donchian Channel sat near $6.01, with support around $5.50, $5.30 and the $4.80–$5.00 region. Williams %R at -4.87 signaled overbought conditions, suggesting a possible consolidation or pullback after the sharp run. A confirmed move above $6.10 could target $6.50 and the June peak near $7.00–$7.20.

Network activity also strengthened the fundamental backdrop. Token Terminal figures shared by commentator MB14 showed 1.2 million monthly active addresses on the main Injective network, a 913.5% 30-day increase, and 845,000 monthly active users, up 623.2%. Transaction count reached 41 million, up 24.5%, while tokenized funds stood at $1.1 billion. Injective EVM recorded 346.9K monthly active users and a 35,886.7% jump in active address growth.

Injective also highlighted that Injective Mint and the network can now support a wider tokenization process after the SEC registration. The project says it can connect ownership records, investor restrictions, transfers and settlement within the same ecosystem. It pointed to existing tokenization initiatives involving digital asset treasuries, equities, private company shares and enterprise trade receivables, plus a live trade finance pilot with POSCO International and LG CNS.

From a longer-term perspective, analyst Crypto Patel compared the current structure to the wave that preceded Injective’s 4,619% rally in 2023–2024. His chart places the main accumulation area at $3–$5, with major invalidation at $1.10 and technical projections near $82.46 and $200–$260. The key resistance is a descending trendline from the previous macro peak; a clean breakout could shift the structure, though those targets remain far above current prices.
