Michael Saylor has once again stirred speculation that Strategy may be preparing to resume its bitcoin accumulation after a two-month pause. On August 30, 2026, Saylor posted a chart on X showing more than 110 BTC purchases made by the company over the past six years, along with the words “We’re ₿ack.”
The post quickly drew interpretations that the business intelligence firm is moving back into BTC buying mode. Strategy’s most recent disclosed bitcoin purchase was completed in the week of June 15–21 and announced on June 22. Since then, the company paused accumulation and even reported some sales while rebuilding its USD reserves.
Those reserves have strengthened significantly. The company’s regular dollar reserve climbed above $6.5 billion last week, and a separate program called USD Cash now holds about $1.59 billion. Strategy has also continued repurchasing its STRC preferred shares, which recovered from roughly $75 to more than $97 after falling well below their $100 par price.
Some market participants believe a new bitcoin purchase could be announced as soon as Monday, while others caution that Saylor may simply be referencing the company’s position turning profitable. Bitcoin has rallied from under $65,000 to above $78,500, moving above Strategy’s average acquisition cost of $75,653 per BTC and putting the firm in profit for the first time since May.
Current CEO Phong Le recently indicated that Strategy could start buying bitcoin again by the end of the year, without providing further details.
