Key takeaways:

  • UNI's record burn signals structural demand shift tied to Robinhood Chain, not just memecoin speculation.
  • Robinhood Chain's 98% Uniswap share highlights growing dependency on one venue, raising concentration risks.
  • Watch whether UNI supply destruction sustains beyond memecoin cycles to confirm lasting fee-driven value accrual.

Uniswap’s native token, UNI, has crossed a major burn milestone, with more than $1 million removed from circulation in a single day. On September 4, total UNI burned reached $1.15 million, representing 184,000 UNI tokens destroyed throughout the day.

This marks the second-highest daily UNI burn on record, underscoring a sharp increase in on-chain trading activity. The overwhelming majority of the burned tokens originated from Robinhood Chain, which accounted for roughly 150,000 of the 184,000 UNI burned that day.

The surge was fueled by record decentralized exchange volume on Robinhood Chain. The network’s daily DEX volume exceeded $3 billion for the first time on the same day, while Uniswap’s share of total volume reached 98 percent. Robinhood Chain has recently stood out for high activity levels, especially in the memecoin market.
