Alpha Ladder Finance, through its Alpha Ladder WealthX platform, has launched access to Payward’s xStocks tokenised equities for institutional and accredited investors in selected Asia-Pacific markets, the company announced on Sept. 11, 2026. The move makes Alpha Ladder one of the first licensed wealth management firms in Asia to offer such access, following a memorandum of understanding between Alpha Ladder, MetaComp and Payward aimed at advancing tokenised capital markets across APAC.
Under the arrangement, Alpha Ladder acts as a distribution partner for xStocks, with MetaComp providing supporting stablecoin, payment and settlement infrastructure where permitted. Investors access the products through CAMP, the Client Asset Management Platform operated by MetaComp, while investment services are provided by MAS-regulated Alpha Ladder Finance. xStocks are issued by Backed Assets (JE) Limited and are designed to track publicly traded U.S. equities and exchange-traded funds through tokens backed 1:1 by underlying securities held in regulated custody.
According to data cited by the companies, xStocks lists over 700 assets and has processed more than US$40 billion in combined transaction volume, with more than 200,000 unique holders globally. The available universe includes tokenized exposure to companies such as Apple and Nvidia, alongside U.S. ETFs. Notably, the current WealthX implementation uses USDC for purchases and sales: investors buy xStocks using USDC and receive positions in their CAMP accounts, while selling converts positions back into USDC. The MVP does not support depositing or withdrawing xStock tokens to external wallets, making the offering more controlled than the broader xStocks ecosystem.
The launch highlights growing institutional interest in tokenised assets. On-chain RWA value reached approximately US$19.3 billion as of end-March 2026, up from about US$5.4 billion in January 2025, and 63% of institutional investors said their firms were very interested in tokenised assets in a 2026 EY/Coinbase survey. Geographic restrictions remain significant: xStocks are not available to U.S. persons, and are restricted in markets including the UK, Canada and Australia. The products are available across blockchain networks including Ethereum, Solana, BNB Chain and Mantle, though availability differs by provider and jurisdiction.
