Bitget has released its August 2026 Proof of Reserves update, reporting a total reserve ratio of 122% and extending its monthly disclosure streak to 45 consecutive months since December 2022. The snapshot indicates that the platform held more assets than the customer balances captured in the reporting period.
The exchange also published its monthly Protection Fund valuation, which averaged $382 million during August. The fund, made up of 5,500 BTC, ranged from about $345.3 million at the start of the month to $441.5 million on August 27, reflecting Bitcoin price movements. Bitget created the fund in 2022 with an initial $300 million commitment, and it remained above that threshold throughout August.
As part of the update, Bitget expanded its Proof of Reserves coverage from four cryptocurrencies to 19 major assets, including BTC, USDT, ETH, LTC, LINK, XRP, USDC, DOGE, BNB, SOL, ADA, NEAR, XAUT, TAO, SUI, ONDO, HYPE, PI, and USDGO. The exchange uses Merkle-tree technology so customers can independently verify whether their holdings were included in a snapshot, and it offers open-source MerkleValidator and Proof of Reserves tools.
Gracy Chen, CEO of Bitget, said: “Users shouldn’t have to simply take our word for it, they should be able to verify their assets for themselves.” Bitget says it serves more than 125 million users through a multi-asset trading model that includes tokenized stocks, ETFs, commodities, foreign exchange and precious metals. The August release marks the 45th straight month of disclosures, and the expanded asset coverage gives users wider visibility into holdings included in Proof of Reserves checks. Bitget emphasizes that Proof of Reserves data represents reserves at a specific moment and should not be interpreted as a full financial audit or a guarantee of future solvency.
