Key takeaways:

  • BNB Chain's $1.1B tokenized RWA lead signals structural shift, pressuring ETH and SOL to counter.
  • Binance's 1.8M holder dominance suggests BNB utility demand may rise beyond exchange token.
  • Watch regulatory scrutiny of tokenized stocks as BNB's 30% share concentrates systemic RWA risk.

BNB Chain has reached a landmark in the tokenized financial asset sector, becoming the first blockchain network to surpass $1 billion in tokenized stocks and exchange-traded funds. According to data cited from Token Terminal, the chain held $1.1 billion in tokenized stocks and ETFs at the time of publication, representing roughly 30% of a total market valued at $3.7 billion.

The milestone underscores a rapid shift in market leadership. In January, Ethereum controlled about 48% of the tokenized stocks and ETFs market, followed by Solana at 31%, while BNB Chain held just 13%. By September, the overall market capitalization had climbed to $3.35 billion from $2.87 billion in August, and the sector has grown more than fivefold from $719 million at the start of the year. BNB Chain now leads Ethereum, which accounts for $828 million or 22%, and Solana, which holds $738 million or 20%.

Beyond market value, BNB Chain also dominates user participation. Binance Research reported approximately 1.8 million addresses holding tokenized stocks on the network, or 45% of all tracked holders in the sector. Products available on the network include Binance bStocks and Ondo Global Markets tokenized securities, contributing to its expanding footprint in bringing traditional financial assets on-chain.
