The past week delivered a sharp correction across crypto markets, driven in large part by heavy withdrawals from spot exchange-traded funds. Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs recorded their worst weekly flows in months, while XRP-based funds defied the broader slump by extending an uninterrupted inflow streak to 13 consecutive weeks.
Spot Bitcoin ETFs suffered $681.10 million in net outflows, the highest since the final full week of June when $1.79 billion exited. The week began with nearly $90 million in outflows on Monday, coinciding with BTC's rejection at $87,000. Tuesday briefly turned positive with $118.86 million in inflows, but that was followed by sharp reversals of $487.07 million on Wednesday and $244.13 million on Thursday. Bitcoin tumbled to a two-week low of $80,400 on Thursday before modest Friday inflows of $21.13 million trimmed the damage. Cumulative net inflows for BTC ETFs declined from $57.79 billion to $57.11 billion.
Ethereum ETFs performed even worse on a consistency basis. Funds tracking ETH posted five consecutive red days: $50.76 million, $201.89 million, $160.77 million, $72.54 million, and $56.10 million left the vehicles between Monday and Friday. The negative streak extended from prior sessions, leaving the products without a green day since September 28. Cumulative net totals dropped from $13.95 billion to $13.26 billion. ETH itself slid from above $2,700 to $2,400 mid-week before recovering above $2,500.
Against this backdrop, spot XRP ETFs were a rare bright spot. They did have three no-action days, but still recorded $3.14 million of inflows on October 6 and $8.17 million on October 8, finishing the week with $11.31 million in net inflows. Total cumulative net inflows reached a new all-time high of $1.8 billion, with Bitwise's XRP ETF leading at nearly $688 million, Franklin Templeton's XRPZ at $509 million, and Canary Capital's XRPC at $487 million. Despite the ETF demand, XRP's price still fell from above $1.51 to a three-week low of $1.32 on Thursday and was trading around $1.40 on Saturday, down about 7% weekly.
Solana ETFs also participated in the risk-off move, with nearly $25 million in net outflows during the period.
