Tokenized stock products offered by major crypto exchanges are gaining traction after data from Token Terminal showed meaningful trading activity during weekends, when traditional U.S. equity markets are closed.
Binance’s bStocks recorded a median weekend decentralized exchange volume of $142.2 million in Q3, according to Token Terminal. That figure was about 22% lower than the weekday median of $183.2 million, but it still underscores a clear appetite for off-hours trading. The activity suggests retail traders are increasingly turning to tokenized equities and decentralized venues outside conventional market hours.
Coinbase’s tokenized stocks also showed early momentum. In the first two months after launch, the platform recorded a median weekend DEX volume of $21 million, with Sunday trading particularly strong at $25.6 million. While smaller than Binance’s reported volume, the Coinbase figures point to growing demand for blockchain-based stock alternatives and could reshape how retail investors interact with equity markets.
The broader crypto market is sending mixed signals, but these off-hours tokenized stock volumes may attract sustained interest. As trading innovations blur the line between traditional finance and crypto, market participants are watching whether strong weekend activity leads to further product development—and potentially greater regulatory attention.
