Crypto.com’s October Research Roundup showed AI-related prediction markets recorded a combined trading volume of $162.84 million, with trading activity up 279% over the period analyzed. Contracts tied to technical capabilities, rankings, and model advances accounted for 56.6% of volume, while product launches and operational performance represented 20.7%. Adoption, usage, and competition contracts made up just 5.9%. Crypto.com and PYMNTS proposed a new prediction market using data from about 4,000 U.S. adults, 500 business decision-makers, and public company disclosures to measure real-world AI adoption and economic outcomes.
The research also noted that 215 publicly traded companies held more than 1.2 million BTC, worth roughly $104 billion as of September 13, representing more than 6% of Bitcoin’s total supply. In September, the crypto market’s price and volume indices rose by 8.99% and 18.88%, respectively, while the volatility index declined by 1.35%. Altcoin deposit transactions on exchanges jumped 146% from approximately 31,720 on September 16 to 78,181 on September 30, with unique depositing addresses increasing from about 17,300 to 50,000. In perpetual derivatives for real-world assets, weekly volume fell to $18.1 billion during the week of September 21, the lowest since February 2026, with foreign exchange-related contracts down 60.7%.
Separately, WuBlockchain data showed spot trading volume across 14 monitored exchanges reached $696.7 billion in September, up 36.5% from $510.4 billion in August. Binance remained the largest venue with $307.8 billion in spot turnover, but its market share fell from 47.6% to 44.2% because its 26.6% growth lagged competitors. OKX grew about 40.3% to $65.8 billion, and Coinbase grew approximately 49.9% to $61.3 billion. The top three exchanges’ combined share declined from 64.8% to 62.4%, while the other 11 exchanges expanded combined volume by around 45.8%. The rebound extended a recovery from July, when volume fell 21.7% to $429 billion across all tracked exchanges, and August, when 13 of 14 venues posted gains.
WuBlockchain cautioned that reported volumes may include wash trading or automated activity despite preprocessing and standardization. The figures describe the distribution among the 14 tracked exchanges rather than global crypto trading.
