Key takeaways:

  • Revenue-funded JST burns signal sustainable deflation, potentially supporting long-term price appreciation.
  • JST's 300% rally may have priced in buybacks, so traders should watch for profit-taking pressure.
  • Future GasFree and USDD revenue streams are critical for sustaining JST buyback momentum.

JUST and JustLend DAO have completed the fifth quarterly buyback and burn of the native JST token, permanently removing 170,723,144 JST from circulation on October 16. The burned tokens were worth approximately $23.53 million at the time and represented about 1.72% of total supply.

The round was funded entirely by JustLend DAO net operating revenue. It combined $9,280,216 in third-quarter net income with $10,340,249 from a historical revenue allocation, according to the DAO's October 17 announcement. The team published the on-chain transaction hash, allowing holders to verify the transfer on the Tron blockchain explorer.

This burn closes the first phase of a program approved by the community in October 2025. Across five consecutive rounds, JustLend DAO has burned 1,881,973,007 JST, equal to 19.01% of supply, with more than $100 million deployed. The total token supply has contracted from approximately 9.9 billion to roughly 8.02 billion JST. Market data shows JST climbed from about $0.03 in October 2025 to a peak of $0.142 on October 10, 2026, a gain of more than 300%, while its circulating market cap surpassed $1 billion.

With the first phase complete, JustLend DAO says the buyback mechanism will be upgraded. Future capital sources are expected to include newer business streams such as GasFree, while USDD multichain revenue above a $10 million threshold may also support buybacks once triggered. JustLend remains one of the main lending venues on Tron DeFi. The DAO has not yet disclosed the size or frequency of the next burn but plans to continue regular financial reporting.
