David Schwartz, Ripple’s CTO Emeritus and a key architect of the XRP Ledger, drew renewed attention to Fuzzy Cards after posting an unboxing of physical booster packs from his kitchen on October 22, 2026. Schwartz said he was unsure who sent the package and thanked the project’s account, @fuzzy_xrp.
Fuzzy Cards operates a hybrid collectibles model on the XRP Ledger. Users acquire digital booster packs issued as XLS-20 NFTs and permanently burn them through a dedicated portal to claim physical cards. Each redeemed NFT corresponds to a sealed booster containing five random cards, turning NFT burning into a verifiable redemption step rather than simply removing a digital collectible from circulation.
The project has reported roughly 100,000 booster packs burned to date, while its physical retail distribution through local board game stores remains in rollout. The next metric to watch is whether that distribution expands beyond the current Web3 audience, as the project tests whether blockchain-based ownership and redemption can support a broader physical collectibles market.
