Palantir Technologies reports third-quarter earnings after the close on November 2, facing Wall Street expectations that exceed management’s own guidance. The 24-analyst consensus compiled by AlphaStreet calls for revenue of about $2.18 billion, roughly $20 million above Palantir’s guided range of $2.160 billion to $2.164 billion. Adjusted EPS is expected to reach $0.41, matching the prior quarter’s adjusted result.
That revenue estimate would represent about 85% year-over-year growth from $1.18 billion in the year-ago quarter, but it marks a deceleration from the 93% growth posted in Q2, when revenue hit $1.935 billion. Because Palantir’s own success has created a demanding comparison, investors are focused on whether the underlying growth trajectory is strengthening, rather than whether the company simply clears headline estimates. A modest revenue beat may not be sufficient without a substantial increase in forward guidance.
Palantir’s U.S. commercial segment will be a key indicator. In Q2, U.S. commercial revenue surged 149% year over year to $764 million, while U.S. commercial total contract value increased 153% to $2.132 billion. Analysts want to see evidence that enterprise adoption of the Artificial Intelligence Platform continues to accelerate and that the contract pipeline is being replenished to support subsequent quarters.
Profitability is another check on expansion quality. Palantir reported a 47% operating margin and a 62% adjusted operating margin in Q2, making the gap between those metrics important for judging how much additional revenue ultimately benefits shareholders. A favourable outcome would combine sustained demand, resilient margins, and a stronger full-year outlook.
Management’s full-year 2026 revenue forecast remains a central focus. The company previously guided to $8.150 billion to $8.158 billion, up from an earlier forecast of $7.650 billion to $7.662 billion. That was the largest single-quarter guidance increase on record and implied roughly 82% annual revenue growth. Another upward revision would reinforce confidence in AI software demand, while an unchanged or cautious outlook could raise questions about growth heading into 2027.
Analyst positioning is mostly bullish. Rosenblatt Securities analyst John McPeake has a Buy rating and a $260 price target, stating that checks point to another beat and raise. JPMorgan initiated coverage with an Overweight rating and a $262 target, while Oppenheimer raised its target to $235 from $200. Options markets imply a post-earnings move of roughly 12% to 13% from a reference price of $184.78, and Palantir has exceeded the options-implied swing in 12 of its last 17 reports.
