BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust ETF recorded $405.3 million in net outflows on Nov. 2, 2026, marking the fund’s largest single-day redemption since June, according to ETF flow data tracked by Coinglass. The move contributed to roughly $1.04 billion in net outflows across U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs over two consecutive trading sessions.
Bitcoin’s price declined approximately 2% over the past 24 hours, approaching $76,500 as institutional demand showed signs of cooling.
IBIT remains the dominant vehicle in the U.S. spot Bitcoin ETF market. The fund has previously posted sharp daily reversals, including a single-day inflow of $665.2 million while competing products saw outflows. IBIT has also ranked fifth among all U.S. ETFs by daily trading volume, indicating that the $405 million outflow reflects deliberate redemptions rather than a thin-market anomaly.
Large redemptions occur when authorized participants deliver shares back to the issuer in exchange for the underlying asset or cash equivalent. For a spot Bitcoin ETF, this can require the fund to sell or transfer Bitcoin proportional to the redeemed shares. The precise motives behind the redemptions are not directly visible and may include arbitrage positioning, hedge rebalancing, or client redemption requests.
Market watchers will track whether IBIT returns to inflows in the following sessions. If outflows persist, the June comparison could become a potential inflection signal for institutional demand. BlackRock has continued to expand its Bitcoin exposure through additional product structures, suggesting a long-term commitment to Bitcoin ETF infrastructure despite the single-session outflow.
