MetaMask Airdrop Speculation Intensifies as Claim Domain Registered

The registration of the domain claim.metamask.io has ignited widespread speculation about an imminent MASK token airdrop from MetaMask. This development, noted on October 27, 2025, aligns with MetaMask's ongoing efforts to decentralize its ecosystem and reward users.

MetaMask recently introduced a rewards program in collaboration with ConsenSys and its Ethereum Layer-2 network, Linea, offering points for on-chain activities like token swaps and asset bridging. ConsenSys CEO Joe Lubin emphasized that this program serves as a bridge to decentralization, stating, "The airdrop and reward structure connect MetaMask’s DeFi utility with its next stage of decentralization." The program includes a $30 million incentive tied to Linea, projected to boost transactional activity on Ethereum.

Additionally, MetaMask has rolled out new features, such as support for derivative trading on EVM-compatible networks via Hyperliquid and plans to integrate with Polymarket later in 2025. Polymarket's CMO, Matthew Modabber, revealed that the platform will launch its POLY token alongside a retroactive airdrop, further fueling speculation around MetaMask's token strategy. Historically, airdrops like those from Uniswap and ENS have led to increased network participation and token value surges, suggesting potential parallels for MASK.

Despite the excitement, MetaMask has not officially confirmed details about the token claim process, and users are advised to rely only on official channels for updates.
