Solana’s real-world-asset ecosystem reached a new all-time high of $4 billion in total value on August 23, 2026, according to an official Solana post. The milestone came two days after validators activated SIMD-0525 at epoch 1020, reducing the network’s target slot time from 400 milliseconds to 350 milliseconds for the first time since launch.
Before the upgrade, Solana Compass measured average user throughput of 1,710 transactions per second in the six days leading up to epoch 1020, with compute utilization at 27.7% of the previous block ceiling. The staged reduction is part of a broader roadmap toward 200ms slots, but each step requires separate supermajority validator approval and a stability window.
Network co-founder Anatoly Yakovenko said that after launch Solana moved from 800ms to 400ms within two days, framing 400ms as a baseline rather than a permanent limit. Solana Foundation developer relations lead Jacob Creech confirmed the epoch 1020 activation. Under the new settings, per-block compute budgets scaled from 100 million compute units at 400ms to 87.5 million at 350ms, preserving roughly 250 million compute units per second across the roadmap.
On the RWA side, Motley Fool data for the 30 days ending August 19 showed $263 million in Solana RWA inflows, while Ethereum recorded $337 million in outflows. Solana’s RWA market grew by 10.6% over that period, compared with Ethereum’s 1.3%. Tokenized U.S. Treasuries represented about $1.2 billion of Solana’s total, up 16.1%, according to the same report.
Backed Finance’s xStocks product expanded tokenized U.S. equities and ETFs as SPL tokens, with trading available on Raydium, Jupiter, and Kamino Finance. Ethereum still held a larger absolute RWA base at roughly $17.2 billion as of August 22, but Solana’s $4 billion figure marked a new high for its tokenization market. Solana also plans further slot-time reductions to 300ms, 250ms, and 200ms, while the Alpenglow consensus redesign targets median finality of around 150 milliseconds and is scheduled for Agave 4.3 in October 2026.
