South Korea’s largest cryptocurrency exchange, Upbit, has officially listed the LIT/KRW trading pair, opening direct fiat trading for Litentry’s native token against the Korean won. Trading began at 4:00 a.m. UTC on Aug. 24, which corresponds to 13:00 local time in South Korea.
LIT is the utility token of Litentry, a decentralized identity aggregation protocol that enables users to manage and verify digital identities across multiple blockchain networks. The project focuses on privacy-preserving credential verification, a use case that has become increasingly relevant as the Web3 ecosystem expands.
The listing provides South Korean traders with a direct fiat on-ramp for LIT, removing the need to convert from other cryptocurrencies before trading. According to the announcement, this could improve liquidity, support price discovery, and expand accessibility for both retail and institutional participants. Upbit’s listings are often seen as a barometer for market sentiment in South Korea, and new tokens frequently experience increased activity after being added to the platform.
However, the broader cryptocurrency market remains volatile, and exchange debuts can produce rapid price swings. Traders were advised to monitor liquidity and market response closely following the listing. The move reflects Upbit’s broader effort to diversify its trading offerings and meet demand from one of the world’s most active crypto markets.
