Artificial intelligence agents operating on the XRP Ledger have sharply increased their use of Ripple USD (RLUSD) as XRP’s price surged toward $1.50, according to XRPL AI Hub dashboard data.
Over seven days, settled volume among AI agents in RLUSD rose 103% to 135.99 tokens, while volume in native XRP fell 6% to 214.10 tokens. In dollar terms, XRP turnover remained higher at roughly $300 compared with about $130 for the stablecoin, as XRP traded near $1.41.
The dashboard indicates total AI-related transactions on the ledger rose 51% to 378,720 operations over the period, suggesting autonomous systems did not reduce activity but diversified payment currencies. The shift accelerated after Aug. 19, coinciding with the beginning of XRP’s rally, after previously following a linear trajectory.
Analysts noted that for AI scripts processing thousands of transactions per second, a rising XRP price becomes a direct operational expense that may not fit predefined API and server budget limits. The increased RLUSD adoption may therefore act as a protective mechanism, allowing these systems to continue operating during periods of strong volatility in the underlying crypto asset.
