Key takeaways:

  • SOXL and Korean equity futures surge signal traders rotating into high-beta semiconductor exposure.
  • Rising USDT-settled tokenized equity spot volume suggests crypto rails challenge traditional brokerage access.
  • Watch MEXC's weekend futures share for retail demand; broad-index volume decline signals sector-concentration risk.

MEXC reported a sharp expansion in its tokenized traditional finance trading activity for August 2026, with stock, index, and ETF futures volume rising 130% month-on-month and the number of available contracts increasing 35% to more than 400. Tokenized stock and ETF spot trading volume also rose 30%, with gains across nearly all existing listings.

Trading broadened beyond a single dominant memory stock. In stock futures, SOXL led with volume up about 1,192%, representing 20% of total stock futures volume, up from under 4% in July. SK hynix (SKHYNIX) ranked second and was the top individual-stock future, with volume up about 401%, while Micron (MU) rose 267%. Combined Korean equity futures volume for SKHYNIX, SKHY, SAMSUNG, and KORU increased about 348%, with their share rising from 14% to 27%. SanDisk continued to grow but its share declined from 25% to 11%. Tesla futures volume rose 784% and SpaceX futures gained 45%, while S&P 500 futures volume fell 32%, signaling a shift from broad market exposure toward sector-specific positions.

Tokenized stock and ETF spot volumes rose 30% month-on-month, and their share of total TradFi spot volume reached 73%. Growth was broad-based: around 99% of existing listings recorded higher volumes. Circle tokenized stock ranked first with volume up 69%; Coinbase and Robinhood also placed in the top 10, with combined crypto-related listing volume up 47%. Nebius volume rose 188% and NVIDIA rose 54%.

MEXC enables users to trade products linked to U.S., Korean, and Hong Kong equities with USDT through a single account. Weekend stock futures trading accounted for about 11% of monthly volume, and the MEXC 0808: Stock Season zero-fee event attracted more than 86,000 users, saving over $1 million in fees. CEO Vugar Usi said: “The sustained growth in stock-related trading across multiple asset classes and markets underscores the accelerating global demand for accessible, diversified market exposure.”
