Backpack Securities has expanded tokenized asset access on Solana, first with the launch of $GRND on September 10 and then through Sunrise's listing of 20 tokenized stocks on September 11.
The Solana ecosystem’s official account highlighted the $GRND launch, describing it as a significant expansion in platform tokenization. The token went live via Backpack Securities, which offers a regulated layer for issuance. Solana’s high throughput and low fees may support trading products that need quick settlement.
Shortly after, Sunrise added 20 tokenized stocks to Solana through Backpack Securities. SolanaFloor first flagged the listing. The move expands a small but growing tokenized equities market at a time when memestock themes are drawing retail attention. However, listings alone don't guarantee users; liquidity, custody, and regulatory comfort remain key.
Why it matters: tokenized stocks allow blockchain-based exposure to public companies. On Solana, they could become a normal part of crypto trading if more brokers and issuers join. For now, the immediate test is volume, competition, and whether attention from memestock traders translates into sustained adoption.
