Key takeaways:

  • Strive's rapid BTC buying signals bullish treasury sentiment, but $630M preferred offering raises dilution risks.
  • TD Cowen's raised ASST target reflects BTC accumulation, yet volatility amplifies shareholder value swings.
  • Strive's 12.3% weekly BTC growth outpaces forecasts, but watch for funding sustainability and potential profit-taking.

Strive disclosed on October 19, 2026 that its Bitcoin treasury reached 36,818 BTC, worth roughly $3 billion, after a five-day buying spree. The company acquired 4,045 BTC between October 12 and October 16 at an average price of about $82,803 per coin, including fees and expenses. The purchases lifted its holdings by 12.3% from 32,773 BTC in one week.

The buying was split into two tranches: 2,822 BTC were acquired from October 12 to 13, while another 1,223 BTC were bought from October 14 to 16 at an average price of $81,734. At a Bitcoin price near $82,000, every $10,000 move in BTC changes the gross value of Strive's holdings by approximately $368 million.

TD Cowen raised its ASST price target from $44 to $56 on October 16. Analysts Lance Vitanza and Jonnathan Navarrete said Strive's Bitcoin accumulation pace had already exceeded their entire fourth-quarter forecast of 4,750 BTC. The new target represents a roughly 27% increase from the previous benchmark.

Strive's filing also showed $317.5 million in cash and cash equivalents as of October 16, along with 505,000 shares of Strategy's STRC preferred stock valued at approximately $49.35 million. All traditional warrants had been exercised or expired by October 16, generating about $369.2 million in gross proceeds and raising effective common shares outstanding from about 110.4 million to 124.1 million.

The company's planned SATS preferred-stock offering adds another funding element. Strive priced seven million shares at $90 each, estimating gross proceeds of $630 million, with settlement expected on October 20. The SATS stock carries a 15% annual dividend rate on a stated value of $100 per share, and Strive plans to reserve an amount equivalent to the first 18 months of dividend payments. Net proceeds may be used for Bitcoin purchases, working capital, income-generating assets, and other corporate purposes.

Strive's rapid accumulation follows earlier September milestones, when it reached 25,000 BTC on September 14 and 26,355 BTC by September 21. The company has added 10,463 BTC since that September 21 balance, but the ASST stock price still reflects more than the number of coins on the balance sheet, with Bitcoin volatility, preferred financing costs and share dilution all shaping common shareholder value.
