The long-awaited official XRP account on X has gone live under the handle @XRP, opening with the message “hello, world. It’s about time.” The October 19 debut included a 10-second metallic logo video and was quickly welcomed by Ripple and the XRP Ledger Foundation.
Ripple quoted the new account, writing: “For over a decade, we’ve built on the XRP Ledger alongside thousands of others.” Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse also reacted, saying the launch had been “a long time coming” and welcoming @XRP. The XRP Ledger Foundation greeted the account with the phrase “New era” and an animated terminal graphic.
According to the account’s profile, @XRP is jointly managed by Ripple and the XRP Ledger Foundation. It describes XRP as the native token of a decentralized blockchain built for payments and includes a disclaimer that its content does not constitute investment advice. Within hours of going live, the account had attracted approximately 21,700 followers, while its opening post had accumulated more than 52,900 views in a captured screenshot.
The welcome messages did not announce a product launch, token distribution, or any change to XRP Ledger transaction rules. XRP was trading near $1.30, up about 2% over 24 hours. The account joins other major cryptocurrency accounts on X, including Bitcoin, Ethereum and Dogecoin.
