CryptoQuant CEO Ki Young Ju has downplayed fears that a bursting artificial intelligence bubble would drag Bitcoin lower, arguing that the leading cryptocurrency largely missed the massive rally in AI stocks. According to Ju, investors who previously sold BTC to finance AI stock positions may now be considering a reverse rotation back into Bitcoin.
In a post on X, Ju said he does not think an AI bubble burst would hurt BTC much. He speculated that profit-taking from the AI boom could have already led some traders to dump their Bitcoin holdings, and as concerns about AI overvaluations grow, capital may begin flowing back. However, he cautioned that an AI crash is not necessarily bullish or bearish for Bitcoin, adding that the two markets seem largely unrelated.
The commentary arrives amid broader anxiety over AI spending. Technology companies are investing hundreds of billions of dollars in data centers, advanced chips, and increasingly sophisticated AI models, drawing comparisons to the late-1990s dot-com era. Skeptics question whether these investments can generate enough revenue, while circular financing structures within the AI industry have added to the unease. Ju's view suggests that even if speculative AI money vaporizes, the fallout for Bitcoin may be limited.
For traders, the key signal to watch is whether Bitcoin accumulation by larger wallets increases as AI stock volatility develops. A sustained rotation out of AI equities and back into BTC could influence short-term price action, though the broader crypto market remains mixed.
