Janus Henderson has introduced JQQQ, which it describes as the first blockchain-native fund offering exposure to the Nasdaq-100 Index through an issuer-sponsored investment strategy. The product is managed by Janus Henderson, an asset manager with roughly $500 billion in assets under management, and uses Centrifuge’s infrastructure for issuance, operations, and distribution. The fund launches exclusively on the Stellar blockchain.
JQQQ is licensed by Nasdaq and tracks 100 of the largest non-financial companies listed on the exchange. It marks a further step in Janus Henderson's expansion into tokenized investment vehicles; the firm already manages more than $1 billion in institutional onchain strategies across U.S. Treasuries, structured credit, and public equities. Centrifuge’s technology will allow fund shares to be managed directly onchain, integrated into wallets and investment applications, and potentially used as collateral in lending markets or structured financial products—though that collateral use is not available at launch.
According to the announcement, Stellar has surpassed $4 billion in tokenized real-world assets during 2026, reinforcing its role in the tokenization trend. Anil Sood, Chief Strategy and Growth Officer at Centrifuge, said the goal is to bring traditional financial instruments into systems where they can also be used to develop additional investment products. Nick Cherney, Head of Innovation at Janus Henderson, said the company aims to expand its tokenized investment platform through products that combine traditional asset management with digital infrastructure. Sean Wasserman, Head of Index Product Management at Nasdaq, highlighted demand for products that provide access to established stock market indexes through new investment structures.
The launch could draw additional institutional attention to the Stellar ecosystem, with traders watching for increased wallet activity and whale movements as a signal of confidence. The move represents a growing convergence between traditional finance and blockchain rails, potentially boosting both tokenized fund adoption and Stellar's institutional profile.
