Cryptocurrency analytics platform Alphractal has issued a critical warning that Bitcoin (BTC) may be approaching a decisive moment in its current bear market cycle, potentially breaking one of the most stable historical timing patterns observed across past downturns.
According to Alphractal's comparison of peak-to-trough durations, previous major cycles took 406 days in 2013–2015, 363 days in 2017–2018, and 376 days in 2021–2022. In the current 2025–2026 cycle, 386 days have now passed since Bitcoin's peak.
The analysis highlights two possible scenarios. The lowest price recorded so far in the current cycle occurred on June 30, 2026, just 267 days after the peak. If that level is confirmed as the ultimate bottom, it would represent one of the most remarkable cyclical shifts in Bitcoin's history, as prior bear markets required at least 363 days to reach a final low.
However, Alphractal cautioned that a new low cannot be ruled out yet. Since historical peak-to-trough durations ranged from 363 to 406 days, and the current cycle is already at day 386, a decline to a new low within roughly the next 20 days would still be consistent with past cycle timing. The firm noted that while market recovery has made many investors increasingly dismiss the possibility of a new low, such a scenario should not be ignored simply because time has passed.
Alphractal's core question is whether a lasting shift in the timing of Bitcoin bear markets has begun.
