Binance’s expected November burn of Luna Classic (LUNC) has not yet been recorded, ending a streak of monthly burns that had run from March 2023 through October 2026. Data tracked by StatsBin shows the most recent entry remains the October 1 burn of 334.88 million LUNC, with no November transaction appearing as of November 3.
The absence breaks a 44-month sequence in the public tracker. However, StatsBin cautioned that a missing month should not automatically be treated as a zero burn. Binance’s existing LUNC burn policy allows the exchange until the fifth of each month to calculate trading fees from spot and margin markets, so a delayed transaction remains possible.
The October burn removed only about 0.006% of the roughly 5.5 trillion LUNC in circulation, worth around $13,700 at LUNC’s price of $0.000041. Binance’s monthly burn amounts have varied widely, from 275.65 million LUNC in August 2026 to 5.30 billion in January 2026. In total, Binance has burned approximately 88.10 billion LUNC across 50 tracked transactions.
For the Terra Classic community, the delay is significant mostly as a signal. Contributor Dawid Skinder called Binance’s monthly burns “an important sign of support and a vital part of the overall burn campaign.” Terra Classic has its own on-chain burn mechanism: proposal 12223 raised the transaction tax to 1.5%, with 1.2 percentage points directed to burns. According to burn tracker data, direct and community efforts account for 58.86% of historical burns, transaction taxes 22.06%, and Binance 19.08%.
The missed burn also arrives shortly after Binance suffered an October 29 theft of about $6.3 billion, which the FBI attributed to North Korea. Reuters reported that Binance used company funds to cover 95% of stolen assets. Some community members have speculated about a connection to wallet-security changes, but Binance has not confirmed a reason for the delay or any link to the security breach.
Despite the uncertainty, on-chain activity on Terra Classic remains limited. DefiLlama showed only about $817,000 in total value locked and around $5,000 in daily decentralized-exchange trading volume on November 3. While Binance’s burns are an important confidence signal, the network will need broader liquidity and user activity for a sustainable recovery.
