XLM, LTC and ETH Face Bearish Support Tests Ahead of Stellar Bell Vote

Key takeaways:

  • XLM's falling open interest ahead of Bell vote signals upgrade is priced in, capping upside.
  • Zcash profit-taking warns of broader altcoin distribution; watch ZEC as leading risk-off indicator.
  • ETH's relative strength versus BTC is fragile; reclaiming $2,320 is needed to confirm reversal.

Stellar's XLM and Litecoin are sliding into key support zones ahead of a Nov. 23 mainnet vote on the Bell upgrade, while Ethereum continues to show a bearish bias despite holding up better than Bitcoin this week.

Stellar's Bell upgrade, also known as Protocol 30, cleared a testnet vote on Nov. 3, and validators will decide on mainnet activation on Nov. 23. The upgrade adds smart contract features including payment distinction, post-quantum signature checks, and millisecond ledger timing. However, derivatives traders are cautious: XLM open interest fell from about $94 million to $88 million during the slide and recovered only modestly to $89.5 million, with funding at 0.0011%.

XLM briefly jumped to about $0.171 on Nov. 4 after the testnet vote, but sellers stepped in, pushing it below $0.16. It now trades near $0.15, down about 10% for the week and roughly 24% for the month. The nearest support sits around $0.14, with a break opening the way toward $0.11. Resistance starts near $0.17 and then $0.19.

Litecoin trades near $52.33, flat on the day but down about 6% for the week and 21% for the month. It faces overhead moving averages, with the 50-day near $57.79 and the 200-day near $56.41. The key floor is around $46.95; losing it could expose $43.39.

Ether trades near $2,230, below its 50-day and 200-day moving averages. It is down about 1% over seven days, compared with Bitcoin's weaker test of its own floor. ETH must reclaim the $2,320 resistance zone, which aligns with the 200-day average, to improve its technical structure. Support remains thin until the $1,850-$1,860 band.

Zcash has cracked first after a roughly 10-month rally, slipping below short-term moving averages to near $1,263. Trader Ansem noted ZEC is where most unrealized profit is hiding, making it an early warning for major coins. Bitcoin traded near $76,000 with a daily RSI around 38.5, and a drop below $74,845 could open a slide toward $73,253.

Overall, sellers remain in control across these charts, and the upcoming Stellar vote looks more like a test of support than a launchpad. Approval may only bring a short bounce, while a delayed or rejected vote could accelerate XLM's slide and weigh on sentiment.
