BNB Chain is building a dedicated Layer 1 blockchain designed specifically for agentic trading, according to its H2 2026 technical roadmap shared with The Block. A testnet is planned for late 2026, with a mainnet launch targeted for early 2027. The new chain will operate alongside the existing BNB Smart Chain, opBNB, and Greenfield, offering developers a purpose-built environment for autonomous trading systems.
The architecture targets sub-50-millisecond transaction preconfirmation and introduces TxStream, a feature that removes the public mempool. By routing transactions directly to the block leader, TxStream aims to eliminate common front-running attacks like sandwiching, as no pending trade is visible before ordering is committed. “TxStream doesn’t eliminate MEV. Nothing does. It makes the dominant attacks impractical by design,” BNB Chain CTO David Z told The Block. Leaders rotate every 200 milliseconds, making it difficult for validators to exploit their position.
A second component, PriorityLane, reserves block space for oracles, liquidations, and bridges, governed onchain. The design also includes parallel execution, just-in-time compilation, and LtHash-based state commitments—a post-quantum approach already implemented in the chain’s state integrity. Throughput goals are set at over 100,000 transactions per second, with a best-case confirmation time of 150 milliseconds and sub-one-second finality. The 2026 roadmap further targets up to 1 million TPS for the network.
While acknowledging that centralized exchanges still hold an edge for co-located high-frequency traders, the team argues that sub-50ms preconfirmation delivers a CEX-like experience for most users without custodial risk. “For co-located HFT, a CEX still wins today. For everyone else, this is the CEX experience without the custodial risk,” Z said.
The new chain will feature a native bridge to BNB Smart Chain, which will serve as the settlement hub with BNB as the unified asset. This design is intended to grow the overall ecosystem rather than fragment liquidity. The announcement comes during a risk-off period for crypto, with the Fear & Greed Index at 20 (Extreme Fear) and BNB trading around $565.39, down 2.7% in 24 hours. BNB Chain’s H1 2026 results included cutting BSC block intervals to 450 milliseconds and nearly doubling throughput to about 5,200 TPS. The full roadmap is expected to be published on Wednesday.
