A quiet revolution has taken shape on the XRP Ledger (XRPL), as on-chain metrics reveal that over 1,000,000 transactions have been executed exclusively by artificial intelligence agents through the x402 protocol. This landmark was highlighted alongside the launch of the XRPL AI Hub platform by t54 and the XRP Ledger Foundation (XRPLF), marking a new phase of fundamental utility for XRP and the Ripple USD (RLUSD) stablecoin.
The statistics shatter the perception that crypto use in the AI sector is merely experimental. While 121 active merchants are registered, more than 77% of the million-transaction volume is concentrated among three infrastructure players:
Heurist Mesh – 404,091 transactions, a decentralized GPU network where AI agents automatically rent computing resources for inference.
LucyOS – 367,733 transactions, a dedicated AI operating system where independent bots trade services and coordinate tasks continuously.
AskSurf – 23,076 transactions, an intelligent search service that purchases structured data in real time.
The remaining traffic comes from a long tail of dozens of wallets, averaging roughly 2,400 operations per address. The uniform payment density suggests developers are now deploying standardized autonomous AI agents at scale.
According to XRPL Foundation member Vet, the XRPL architecture is ideally suited for the agentic economy because it offers fixed, extremely low transaction fees regardless of network load, enabling predictable operational costs for AI. Combined with high settlement speed, XRP’s global liquidity, and the built-in decentralized exchange (DEX) for instant 24/7 asset conversion, the network gains a powerful competitive advantage.
t54 co-founder Chandler Feng summarized the journey: “Development was slow, and then it happened all at once.” Now, the million-transaction milestone signals that the autonomous AI economy on XRPL is no longer a theory but a functioning reality.
