Ripple sparked significant community interest on October 27 after a viral tweet highlighting network activity gained 4,520 likes and 749 retweets. The post, framed as a rhythmic call to action, boosted engagement around XRP Ledger even though no official transaction metrics were released at that time.
However, new data from XRPScan showed the on-chain payment spike was short-lived. XRP Ledger payment volume surged 2,633% by October 25, with daily payments reaching 137.7 million XRP. Activity then rose to 275.5 million XRP on October 26 and nearly 366 million XRP on October 27. By October 28, daily payment volume dropped 45.1% to about 200.8 million XRP, leaving activity below the 30-day average of roughly 480.6 million XRP.
Historical XRPScan records put the short-term move in perspective: daily payment volumes have reached approximately 2.5 billion XRP over the past year, with a historical maximum near 7 billion XRP. The October recovery therefore remained about 23.9% below the 30-day average even at its peak.
On the price side, XRP traded near $1.33, after sliding from roughly $1.65 in late September to below $1.30 in October. Technical indicators identified immediate resistance near $1.33 and a moving-average resistance zone between $1.36 and $1.38. The relative strength index stood near 48, indicating neutral momentum. Buyers have defended $1.25 twice during October, making it a key support; a breakdown could expose $1.10, while a sustained move above $1.38 would clear the identified resistance zone.
The mixed signals underline a period of uncertainty for XRP: social engagement is strong, but network payment activity has cooled and price momentum remains limited.
